DENKYIRA HERITAGE FOUNDATION HONOURS THE 32ND ANNIVERSARY OF THE DENKYIRAHEMAA, NANA AMA AYENSUA SAARA III
The Denkyira Heritage Foundation, a youth-led and gender-balanced organisation committed to the cultural preservation, unity, and development of Denkyira Kingdom and all chiefdoms with Denkyira ancestry has paid a historic courtesy visit to Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III, Denkyirahemaa, in commemoration of her 32nd Anniversary on the Stool.
Ascending the female stool of Denkyira on 30th April 1993 at the youthful age of 22, Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III became the first literate Denkyirahemaa, symbolising a bridge between tradition and modernity. Her reign has been characterised by dignity, and a consistent commitment to involving the youth in Denkyira’s cultural heritage while advocating for the development of her people.
As part of this celebration, the Foundation presented a series of symbolic gifts:
- A beaded portrait of the Denkyirahemaa, reflecting the sacred golden beads of the Bankam Dwa (the Black Stool of Denkyira). The diverse shapes and colours of the beads represent the varied opinions, beliefs, and strengths of Denkyiraman, which when united, form a kingdom of unmatched beauty and resilience.
- A white kente cloth adorned with the Adinkra symbols Nserewa (wealth and abundance), Bi Nka Bi (peace and harmony), and the parrot eating oil palm fruit (symbol of Agona royalty). Together, these symbols express the need for prosperity, tolerance, and unity under the royal lineage of Denkyira.
- Crates of drinks to mark the occasion with refreshment and celebration.
The Denkyira Heritage Foundation reaffirmed its unwavering dedication to partnering with all institutions, traditional authorities, and stakeholders across Denkyira and the diaspora to safeguard cultural heritage while advancing development and unity among chiefdoms with Denkyira ancestry.

The delegation for the presentation was led by Nana Boadu Ntiamoah (Executive Director), supported by key executives and members: Mr. Samuel Opoku (Programs Manager), Mr. Jonathan Mensah (Fundraising Manager), Mrs. Gloria Asubonteng (Growth Manager), Mr. James Amoah famously known as Awushe (Convener of Dunkwa Yellow Celebration), Nana Kofi Asamoah (Denkyira Apagya Leader), and TOF K Creative Studios.
